The longer I practice law, the more I see litigation as a problem in and of itself, rather than an effective means to address disputes. I have mediation today in a case where I represent a dairy being sued by an employee claiming he was not paid all of his wages. My client has really good records that show he paid what he owes, but they are going to try to squeeze him for money anyway.
It’s my job to solve this problem. So I’m thinking about cars.
Porthole window is the best window.

Curved/wraparound windows are the best windows.

If you are aggressive, resourceful, and persistent enough, you can force almost anyone into a financial settlement where none at all is justified. Pardon the negativity, but I learned years ago that right vs wrong means just a bit more than diddly squat in the legal realm.

That's the problem when everybody thinks the big guy is trying to screw the little guy. Sometimes the big guy is like John Coffey in the Green Mile.

Get involved with a few corporate bankruptcy cases if you really want to see how screwed up the system is.

The glut of lawyers only is going to increase these burdens. Everyone needs to eat, and there are many lawyers out there who can only get their food by filing bullshit cases and leveraging settlements. 40% of a nuisance settlement helps to pay the bills a few thousand dollars at a time.

I was told once that it’s not about the truth; it’s about what you can prove. There is truth in that aphorism, but as I get older, I find it to not be cynical enough to describe our legal system.
Also, porthole windows are underutilized in today’s car design.
